About Nonketotic Hyperosmolar Infection: Nonketotic Hyperosmolar Syndrome is actually a complication found in diabetes mellitus in which very noticeable hyperglycemia does occur (such as levels surpassing 800 mg/dL), inducing osmotic shifts in water in brain cells, and resulting in gut. It can be fatal or cause permanent damage. Ketoacidosis will not occur in these situations.
